Documentation › Mushrooms › Features › Picking & Quality
Hand-picking and knife minigames and the 1–3 star quality.
Players target a mushroom and choose Collect. With Config.WalkToMushroom the character first walks up to it (moving cancels), kneels, and the camera moves next to the mushroom. The minigame depends on what the player holds.
Hold the left mouse button and rock the mouse left and right. Soil puffs out as the stem loosens. Rocking too fast strains the stem.
Once it is loose, move the mouse up slowly to pull the mushroom out. Pulling too fast strains it; at full strain the stem snaps.
Hold a knife, machete, switchblade or dagger (Config.KnifeWeapons) and cut along the line over the stem. Precision decides the result. The knife is the faster way.
Every mushroom gets 1★–3★. The base roll depends on rarity, then the minigame changes it by at most one star:
cleanBonusChance (50 %) for +1★-- config_economy.lua
Config.Quality = {
enabled = true,
maxStars = 3,
collectWeights = { -- % chance of 1★ / 2★ / 3★
default = { 70, 25, 5 },
uncommon = { 60, 30, 10 },
rare = { 50, 35, 15 },
legendary = { 40, 40, 20 },
},
priceMultiplier = { 1.0, 1.35, 1.8 },
}After a pick a small notice shows what was collected, e.g. +2 Boletus ★★☆ (Config.UI.collectHud).
Quality is stored as item metadata: ox_inventory, qb-inventory and qs-inventory. On other inventories every mushroom counts as 1★.

Config.CollectAmount = { min = 1, max = 2 } multiplied by the forest's countMultiplier. The double_drop perk can double it.
